One Day Crochet Projects
We’ve all been there. You had such good intensions to crochet your friend a gift, or to make a present for a baby shower or a birthday. And suddenly, the big event is the following day, and you’ve done exactly nothing.
But don’t panic, there are actually plenty of adorable crochet projects that you can successfully hook up in less than a day. For the purposes of this helping real world situations, I’m going to only include projects that are likely to take a confident crocheter less than six hours. Because you need to sleep and eat and stuff like that.
The Perfect Gift
There are so many different types of quick crochet project, that I thought we’d break them down into categories for you, so just scroll down the page and pick the right one for you or your loved one!
Accessories
Crochet flowers are beautiful, they look intricate, and brilliantly they are also really quick to make. The flowers you can see used as accessories in this section were individually very fast to crochet. The earrings were the quickest, with a pair probably taking me less than fifteen minutes to crochet, and the headband was a little longer but still no more than an hour to put together.
Of the accessory patterns I’m sharing here, the longest to make was the hot water bottle or cat hammock, both of which probably took me a couple of hours to put together. But they are all really realistic projects to complete if you have a free day.
I highly recommend if you are wanting to make a dent in a project that you have the possibility to build on over time, considering crocheting some coasters. This set took me under an hour each to make, and it’s ideal when you’ve got a free day because you can decide to crochet a set number but then if you love them and get a good use out of them you can always crochet more later on without impacting the project at all.
Flowers
Make great gifts for almost anyone!
I love crocheting flowers. How fast they work up depends on which style of flower I am making, but they are all under an hour for a flower at my usual working speed. It might take you a bit longer if you are newer to crochet (i’ve been here a while!) but I’d say for a confident crocheter no more than two or three hours each.
Over time I’ve also decided that I prefer these patterns in cotton blend yarn and not acrylic, which was what I designed the pattern in initially. Some cottons are slower to work with because the texture is more abrasive on your fingers, but if you pick a 60% cotton blend this shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

Bringing Flowers Together
Combining patterns
One of my favorite things to do with my flower patterns is to mix and match them. If you are putting together a quick project and have been crocheting for a while, you should have time to make up three or four of these flowers to make a gorgeous bouquet.
Crochet Toys
There are so many different gorgeous and potentially speedy crochet toy patterns, that I’m going to split them into two sections. One will be the smaller, more detailed plushies, and the other will be the medium sized, squishy, plush yarn designs.
Let’s start with the squishies!
