About Lucy Kate Crochet
Hello and welcome! I’m Lucy Kate Easton, a passionate crocheter and amigurumi designer. I have been privileged to be immersed in the world of crochet for over a decade now.
My Designs and Process
My absolute passion is designing new amigurumi patterns. I adore crochet toys of all types, but my main focus is on more detailed patterns that are primarily aimed at intermediate to advanced crocheters. I do have plenty of beginner friendly patterns here too, but these next level, more detailed toys are where my heart really lies.
I love the natural world so my go-to for new designs is always animal based. I pick a creature that I love or an unusual animal and go from there. I first decide the style and shape of toy I’m wanting to aim for – whether that’s a more realistic stance or on more traditionally teddy-like. Then I set about working up the basic shape in a color that suits the project well. I usually have a clear picture in my mind of the details I’ll add before I begin, but these often evolve as it gets worked up.
You can get to know more about me, my designs and patterns on my Facebook page, Instagram, and the Lucy Kate Crochet YouTube channel. You can find most of my patterns for free in the Free Patterns section of this website, but I also have PDF patterns available from the Printable Patterns section and on my Etsy shop. You can also contact me directly by email to hello@lucykatecrochet.com
My mission, and the aim of this website, is to provide high quality, accurate and fun crochet patterns and techniques to crocheters of every level.
I first set up Lucy Kate Crochet in 2015 as somewhere to store and share the crochet patterns I had started to design. It took a while to transfer the patterns from the notepads dotted around my living room, but it turns out it was worth the effort as other people have been enjoying them as much as I did ever since.
This site has grown from those early days into a wealth of knowledge, tips, tricks, experience and beginners hacks for diving into this awesome hobby.
My Most Popular Patterns
A few of my patterns have taken off in such a rewarding way, particularly these:

Feedback and Testimonials
One of the best things about creating crochet patterns, I must admit, is hearing what people think once they’ve made them. I am lucky enough to have been given glowing testimonials by fellow crocheters and pattern testers alike. Something I can’t thank them for enough. Here are some of my favorites that always make me grin:

Our Little Team
I still write most of the articles and patterns myself, but am now joined by my friend Sarah Holloway who enthusiastically shares her crochet thoughts and ideas for you all to enjoy.
Sarah and I have been besties since we were 12 years old, and the gift she made for my newborn daughter of some tiny cute crochet bunnies was the reason I started wanting to crochet myself.
From stylish homeware to adorable cuddly toys, we love anything and everything to do with the wonderful world of crochet.
Thank you for joining us, and we look forward to hearing from you in the comments section below our articles.
I can’t wait to meet you.
Happy Crocheting!
