A yarn problem.
I knew I bought a lot of yarn, but I hadn’t quite realised how regular this was.
My first clue should have been the dip in my bank account.
The second should probably have been the fact that the staff at my local craft store remember me.
But no, writing this blog is what it took for me to notice exactly how often I increase my supply.
Once a week is the norm, but often twice or even more isn’t an irregular occurrence.
Sirdar Amalfi DK
Today I honestly didn’t intend to buy any yarn when we popped over. I know, I know, but really, I didn’t. But then I saw these beauties.
Sirdar Amalfi DK is a new yarn to me.
But I’m very excited to get to work with it.
This 75% cotton yarn is gorgeously flecked.
I will definitely be using the colors together when I crochet with them.
New Crochet Bag Project
I have started a new crochet bag project, using some stunning Rowan Creative Linen yarn this week. I am equally delighted and irritated by it.
Let’s start with the delighted part.
It’s a wonderful color yarn, which has translated really well when stitched. It works up nice and tightly, with a strong and durable finish.
The irritating part I suspect is my fault. I have somehow got into a spectacular tangle.
I really have no idea how I managed it, so if anyone can shed some light so that I don’t make the same mistake again in future I would be hugely grateful! I began using it exactly as normal with the loose strand, and rapidly got to this disastrous point.
The crochet bag has really captured my imagination, and plays right into my current obsession with the awesome popcorn stitch.
The amount of projects on the go at the moment is getting silly, so I will try not to start any further new ideas now until one of my current ones is complete.
Well, I’ll give it a go!
