Hi Karyn, You’ll probably find it helpful to take a look at the solid granny square instructions, as the corners can be done in the same way as a border : https://lucykatecrochet.com/solid-granny-square Hope that helps!

I’m excited to hear you’re giving it a go!

At the end of round 2, the slip stitch goes into the 3rd chain stitch of the initial ch 5. So that the first 3 chains of the ch5 represent a dc, and the last 2 chains make up the corner space. Does that help?

In round 3 onwards, you’re right, that’s a typo which I shall now correct. It should of course read ‘dc 1 into corner space and join with a slip stitch to the 3rd chain.’ Thank you for drawing my attention to it, and sorry for the confusion!

Sarah

On round 2, you write: “dc into the final corner space, sl st into the 3rd chain to join.” The initial ch 5 is sitting right in the way. Do I go around the post?
ON round 3 and forward, the round begins with the ch 5, which acts as a dc and ch2, but the round finishes with “dc 2 into corner space and join with a slip stitch to the 3rd chain.” This would make 3 dc in that final half corner. Am I supposed to work around the post of the chain five?
Thanks in advance for clarifying this.
