It’s been a gloomy few days here in the South of England.
After a hot sunny summer, it could be enough to put a serious dampener on the spirits as well as the flowerbeds. But fortunately, being driven indoors is never too much of a bad thing when there’s crochet to be done.
My Current Crochet Projects
I started a new commission yesterday, a lovely chocolate Lab puppy toy.
I find crocheting toys is a little more fiddly than making throw pillows or blankets, perhaps due to the need for tighter neater stitches.
But it is ever so rewarding to find a cute face of your own design peeking up at you.
I have also nearly finished a new free crochet pattern for a lovely fair isle crochet basket. Great for storing those crochet odds and ends.
I hope to have to it ready to be published online within the next couple of days.
As I often do at weekends, I managed to fit in some crochet when we were out and about as well.
With a bunch of yarn on my lap in the car, I began to put together a crochet block design for my daughter’s room. I think it’s going to be a time consuming, long term project, but a fun one.
The aim is to make a bed spread for her with the fun sparkling yarn she picked out recently.
Even More New Yarn!
We found some more colorful yarn today, too. With only a minor detour from the planned outing.
I have been looking for some pastel shades of cotton yarn for an idea I have, which I will share more about in a later post.
I think this selection will work really well.
With the weather cooling down, I have started thinking about crochet accessories for the autumn and winter. So I have picked up some fun new chunky yarn, which I hope will make pretty scarves and hats at some point in the near future.
Then there was the impulse purchase.
I absolutely love this rainbow dyed yarn. I’m also pretty keen on it’s name, which I suspect might have swayed my decision to buy if i’m completely honest.
I haven’t any ideas what I’m going to do with it, so if you can think of anything fun do let me know in the comments section below!
