I always enjoy the day more when I find opportunities to be creative.
Between work, sessions of Play-Doh, painting, lego and a lot of garden time, I managed to complete my gorgeously soft and snuggly chenille cushion, get the photos taken and the write-up finished off.
The pattern is now online if you’d like to give it a go. It was fairly quick to make, is made up of nice simple stitches and has a delightfully tactile finish.
Lunch Time Success!
I have to admit, lunchtime is normally a bit of a muddle in my house. Random foods are thrown in together without any thought, and often results in slightly bizarre taste combinations. So I am admittedly a bit smug at how well it turned out today.
My recipe is really simple, but it looks and importantly tastes, the part. You just pop some diced chicken, tomatoes, butter and onion into a oven proof dish. Cover them pesto, place thin sliced zucchinis in a layer on top, then coat it all in cheese just before it’s ready.
Simple, but super yummy.
Yarn, Glorious Yarn
A new commission came through this morning, so I took some time to go through my massive stock of yarn to see if I had any which would suit the project nicely. Happily, I did! I can’t wait to use it to make a tiny replica of a beautiful chocolate Lab.
Shuffling through the boxes, shelves and pots really got me thinking about the range of yarns that are out there, and how helpful the extensive catalogue I am putting together will hopefully be – once I manage to finish it!
New Crochet Patterns
It also inspired me to think about what I want to do next in terms of patterns for the site.
I have a very important crochet panda commission to make before the end of October for my niece’s birthday, which I am really looking forward to creating.
In the meantime I have been looking at a lot of gorgeous basket patterns, and thinking of some unique twists of my own to share with you.
I have a lot of projects on the go at the moment, but toy commissions and creating new patterns never fail to renew my enthusiasm.
I will pop up some pictures as I go along.
